Close Combat: Wacht am Rhein, is a World War II real-time tactics game, developed by Strategy 3 Tactics, and released on October 28, 2008 [1]. A remake of the fourth installment of the Close Combat series, the game is played on a two-dimensional map, between either one or two players.
Based on the fighting of the Americans and the Germans in the Ardennes Forest during the Battle of the Bulge; all the units in the game are based on those used in December of 1944. The game may be played as either the Germans, or the Americans.
Combat takes place in two phases. First in a movement phase, battle groups may be moved around the Ardennes Forest area. After this strategic phase any moves which have resulted in both a German and American battle group being present result in the two battle groups engaging in a tactical battle on a two-dimensional map.
